Because of the ubiquity of grain as a food source, the term grain is often used to describe something small and with volume or mass similar to an individual grain seed.

Grains are usually shipped in large bulk cargos on a suitable dry bulk vessels ( carriers) .

The Aprox. volume of grains traded per year is 450 Million Tons.
